Professor Zeng Yongping's academic report "Guidelines for Submission of International SCI Papers"

Recently, Professor Zeng Yongping, who is a professor and doctoral supervisor at South China University of Technology and Editor-in-chief of Environmental Pollution which is an authoritative international environmental science journal, was invited by Dean Professor Yu Kefu to visit the college and give a special academic report "Guidelines for Submission of International SCI Papers" to teachers and students. The lecture provided a detailed submission guide for our faculty and students in an easy-to-understand manner, helping them to better understand and deal with various problems that may be encountered in the process of academic submission.

In this lecture, Professor Zeng Yongping first emphasized the importance of submission. He said that submission is a key part of academic research. Only through submission can relevant research results achieve wider dissemination and application. At the same time, teachers and students are encouraged to actively submit articles and take the submission process with diligence.

Professor Zeng Yongping then explained in detail the basic submission process and key considerations. He pointed out that before submitting a manuscript, one should fully understand the target journal in submission requirements and review standards to ensure the professionalism and pertinence of the manuscript. He also shared some tips to improve the chances of successful submission, including writing clear, accurate and persuasive paper abstracts, and choosing journals suitable to the research findings. Professor Zeng Yongping also emphasized the importance of academic integrity. Academic integrity is a principle that every scholar should adhere to. During the submission process, one must ensure that the research work is original, the data is accurate, and the conclusions are based on facts. He also shared some ways to avoid academic misconduct, including how to correctly cite others’ findings and how to deal with possible conflicts of interest, etc.

Professor Zeng Yongping's lecture was substantial and easy to understand. His clear and accessible explanation provided faculty and students with strong guidance and targeted help in their submissions. Through his report, faculty and students have a more comprehensive and profound understanding of the details in journal submission and review, which enhanced their confidence and motivation in scientific research.
